The organisers of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), which ended this weekend in Banská Bystrica were surprised by the audience's interest in the event, with almost 150,000 people visiting the thirteen sports fields and the fan zone. "EYOF has stirred up sports life not only in Banská Bystrica, but in the entire region. Special thanks go to the volunteers, without whom it would not be possible to organise an event of this scale," EYOF 2022 executive director Peter Hamaj said. Slovakia won three bronze medals, one silver and two gold at the event.
