Coalition crisis bigger than personal relations, says ministry secretary

A much bigger problem than the personal relations between leaders of the SaS and OĽANO parties was the complete breakdown of the rules of operation of the governing coalition, including non-compliance with the coalition agreement. This according to State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and vice-president of the SaS party, Martin Klus, who was speaking in a televised debate in connection with the coalition crisis. "If the rules are permanently broken, then it is very difficult to govern," said Klus. Recalling his party’s resolution that a new coalition agreement should be written, he said that it should be written in a way that reflects current political conditions and in such a way that individual actors can abide by it for the rest of the electoral period.
