The number of foreigners working in Slovakia increased in June to 80,500, having increased by 1700 month-on-month and by more than 12,000 year-on-year according to the data of the Slovak Labour, Social Affairs and Family Office. The largest group of foreigners working in the country are Ukrainians (29,400), followed by Serbs (9,200), Romanians (7,300), Czechs (6,200) and Hungarians (5,300).
Three out of ten foreigners in Slovakia (almost 23,900) worked in Bratislava at the end of June this year. The Trnava district registered 5,100 employed foreigners in the same period, followed by the western Slovak Malacky district with 2,100 working citizens from other countries. On the contrary, only 19 foreign nationals were working in the eastern Slovak Medzilaborce district at the end of June.
