Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Slovak Military Police has registered 30 offences in connection with drone overflights over military objects said Slovak Defence Ministry Spokesperson Martina Kovaľ Kakaščíková. Five of all cases have been referred to the relevant administrative authorities, which are authorised to decide on the amount of the sanction. "A fine of up to almost €1,700 can be imposed for such offences," the spokeswoman explained.
The Defence Ministry wants to strengthen protection against unwanted drone activity in the light of the increase in unauthorised drone overflights over military facilities. This week, it submitted an amendment to the inter-ministerial comment procedure that proposes to ban drone overflights over military facilities and premises, as well as military convoys and transports.
