The Slovak Government on Wednesday approved the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, greenlighting the ratification of the relevant protocols to the North Atlantic Treaty. The protocols still have to be approved by Parliament and ultimately ratified by the president, however. According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the sponsor of the respective motions, the Finnish and Swedish membership of NATO will bolster North-Atlantic stability and security, including that of Slovakia.
