Slovak prime minister receives Eurogroup president

Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger on Wednesday received the President of the Eurogroup, Paschal Donohoe. They talked together about the current economic situation in the Eurozone, but also about the effects of the war in Ukraine on the economy of EU member states. Eduard Heger informed the head of the Eurogroup that the Slovak Republic is among those countries that have provided the largest aid to Ukraine in relation to GDP. Donohoe expressed his appreciation for this and added that Slovakia's help in managing the humanitarian crisis is perceived positively by the rest of the European Union. In connection with the economic impact of the war, Heger explained to Donohoe what measures the government is taking against high inflation and rising energy prices. The two leaders also discussed European solutions to the current crisis, as well as fiscal and monetary measures aimed at re-stabilising the situation within the EU.
