In 2021, firms in Slovakia paid a total of €3.2 billion in income tax into the state budget, amounting to a growth of half a billion euros or 18.2 percent as compared to 2020 and 2019, the Financial Administration reported on Wednesday. Firms operating in industrial production, retail and wholesale did best in 2021. Significantly higher tax sums were also declared by companies in the financial sector and real estate, although the figures are not yet final, as several companies with incomes from abroad have a deadline to submit tax returns by the end of September.
