European diplomats in Brussels on Monday agreed on several areas of assistance for Ukraine. These include additional military aid worth EUR 500 million, food aid, assistance in prosecuting those responsible for war crimes and post-war reconstruction in Ukraine. This was stated by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ingrid Brocková. Participants at the EU Foreign Affairs Council agreed that Russia's aggression has far-reaching global implications for food and energy security. "Today, there are 193 million people in 53 countries around the world who are food insecure – 40 million more than last year. So a discussion about how to help Ukraine is warranted, and the strongest message is that we cannot get tired of helping Ukraine," Brocková said. The diplomats approved the fifth aid package through the European Peace Facility worth 500 million euros. In total, the EU has approved 2.5 billion euros of war aid for Kiev. This includes addressing the issue of food security. Brocková also pointed out that more Ukrainian grain is now being shipped through Slovakia in one week than previously in one month.
