The Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in Medzilaborce, eastern Slovakia, will probably not receive €7.1 million for its renovation. The Government wants to scrap the resolution that released the money for the repairs. The Cabinet suspended the discussion on this point on Wednesday. During the processing of the project documentation, the investment costs of the project increased by almost 80 percent, or to more than €12.7 million, due to the increase in prices on the construction market.
The world-famous artist’s parents lived in Medzilaborce before emigrating to the USA. Members of Warhol’s family helped to set up the museum.
