Slovak soldiers were marching in the military parade in Paris on Thursday organised to celebrate Bastille Day. Taking part in the parade were almost twenty members of the special forces from the Trebisov Airborne Battalion, eastern Slovakia. As Defence Ministry stated: "Through their presence among thirty troops of other invited states, they symbolise a strong alliance and active military cooperation in various areas, especially in the area of detecting toxic chemical substances and protecting against them." The military parade on the Champs-Elysees was held on the 233rd anniversary of the taking of the Bastille, which is a national holiday in France.
