Slovakia has joined a united statement by 46 countries condemning Russia for misusing an informal meeting of the UN Security Council to spread disinformation about the war in Ukraine. According to the statement, Russia has once again attempted to divert attention from its own violations of the UN Charter and international law and to cynically justify its unprovoked and illegal invasion of Ukraine. The document was released after a UNSC meeting convened by Russia this week on the topic of 'Neo-Nazism and Radical Nationalism: Exploring the Root Causes of the Crisis in Ukraine'. The participants support independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. They also called on Russia to stop its hateful disinformation campaigns against Ukraine, to end its war of aggression and to immediately withdraw its forces from Ukrainian territories.
