Prime Minister Eduard Heger paid his respects to assassinated Japanese ex-premier Shinzo Abe on Tuesday by adding his signature to the book of condolences at the Japanese Embassy to Slovakia.
"Shinzo Abe was a strong democratic leader who made a great impact on the development of Japan. I send my heartfelt sympathies to his family but also the whole Japanese nation," claimed Heger. In his statement, he further condemned the violent act of assassination. Heger underlined that it is beyond the pale in the democratic world to meet political goals with violence and terror.
