Following three months of year-on-year decreases, industrial production rose by 1.1% y-o-y and by 2.1% month-on-month after seasonal adjustments in May 2022, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. May saw a reversal in the four-month decline in the production of transport vehicles, with m-o-m growth of 10.3% despite lingering hurdles in the supply of components. Increases were also recorded in the production of electrical devices (21.1%), machines and equipment (3.7%) and metals (2.8%). In the first five months of 2022, industrial production went down by 2.8% y-o-y. The same period of last year saw growth of 20.5% due to the production shutdowns of 2020 caused by coronavirus.
