Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok reacted to Friday's assassination attempt on Japanese ex-premier Shinzo Abe. "I am shocked and saddened by the shooting of former prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. Our thoughts are with him, his family and with the people of Japan," wrote the minister on his social media channel, stressing a strong partnership and close ties between Slovakia and Japan. Abe was shot twice from behind while he was giving a speech in the city of Nara on Friday morning.
