The first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Slovakia, Public Health Office spokeswoman Dasa Rackova reported on Thursday. According to the spokeswoman, the patient in question, aged 20-59, has been isolated and hospitalised, and all people who were in close contact with him or her recently have been informed how they should proceed if they start to exhibit the symptoms of the disease.
