“I am preparing a motion to the Constitutional Court in connection with the anti-inflation package”, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputova stated on Sunday. She reiterated that in the legislation adopted, she objects to the legitimacy of the fast-tracked legislative procedure used for the measures that are to come into force as of January 2023. The head of state also pointed to the lack of clarity of how the measures will be funded as well as to the expected negative impact on local governments. The President emphasised that she does not object to the law as a whole, so she will not even demand an immediate suspension of its effectiveness, but only those provisions that are to come into effect as of January 1, 2023.
