Slovakia has requested emergency aid from European sources in connection with the consequences of the war in Ukraine. According to the Slovak Interior Ministry, the country is asking for €6.5 million from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and an additional €9.3 million from the Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI). "Emergency aid funds have been distributed among relevant member states on the basis of statistics available at the end of March," stated the ministry.The European Commission announced the distribution of aid to support member states most affected by mass influxes of people from Ukraine in May. The condition for receiving the funds was meeting the indicators set by the European Commission.
