On 15 June, the 7-month long seasonal closure in the High Tatras ended and all hiking trails again opened to visitors. However, the Mountain Rescue Service warns that conditions at higher altitudes are not yet summer-like and visitors may encounter unevenly distributed snow cover. Equipment and gear must be adapted to this when planning. Mountain rescuers also remind that one should adapt the route to one’s abilities and the conditions in the area and start hiking in the early morning hours. It is also important to monitor the weather and meteorologists' warnings when planning a hike. There are 600 kilometres of hiking trails in the Tatra National Park, all of which are open to visitors until 30 October.
