The Ministry of Health announced on Monday that it wants to increase the salaries of nurses. The aim is to quickly stabilize the staff. The ministry also announced other systemic measures such as subsidies for students, graduate bonuses, and offering the possibility of returning to work at one’s place of birth, language training and a one-off recruitment allowance. According to the Ministry, the problem of the shortage of nurses in Slovakia is gradually worsening. It sees the reasons for the shortage of nurses in their age structure, migration abroad and the lack of interest of young people in the profession.
