On Monday evening, Prime Minister Eduard Heger was to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The topic of the debate included the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the energy situation as well as EU related issues. According to the Czech press agency CTK, their discussion follows the May phone call where the two authorities talked also about the diversification of oil and gas resources. Monday’s talks should also revolve around the security issues stemming from Slovakia’s position as an eastern member of NATO. Two German Patriot missile systems along with one Dutch one have been set up on the Slovak territory as part of boosting NATO’s eastern border.
