Opposition SMER-SD launches petition to initiate referendum on early election

On Friday, the opposition Smer-SD party officially launched a petition drive to collect signatures for the referendum, during which it wants to collect the necessary 350 thousand signatures. Subsequently, the party wants to ask President Zuzana Čaputová to announce a referendum, the aim of which would be the fall of the current government and would also lead to a change in the Slovak constitution. The referendum would ask two questions the first one being Do you agree that the government of the Slovak Republic should resign without delay? The second question asks whether the people agree that it is possible to shorten the electoral term by changing the constitution or by a referendum.
