The freedom and solidarity party will not participate in the coalition council from Tuesday. The party has decided on this in order to calm the tense situation. Party representatives will attend the government meetings. According to SaS chairman Richard Sulík, the coalition is supposed to be a coalition of equal partners. "Our priority is to conduct a constructive dialogue and not to have to listen to insults from Igor Matovič. We have been repeatedly subjected to personal attacks from him at coalition council meetings." On Wednesday, Igor Matovic will present a bill to the government on raising teachers' salaries, coupled with tax increases on alcohol, gambling and higher taxes on wealthy companies. The Freedom and Solidarity party wants to use a veto. Prime Minister Eduard Heger continues to reject the SaS decision. However, if the Liberals exercise their veto, he will insist that it be respected in order to preserve the coalition. He announced this before Tuesday's meeting of the coalition council.
