Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad met via video call with his counterparts in the Bucharest Nine (B9), the USA, the United Kingdom and a NATO representative. They talked about the current security situation in Ukraine, Defence Ministry spokeswoman Martina Koval Kakascikova told TASR, adding that they also discussed issues arising from current transatlantic partnership processes. In the context of the upcoming NATO Summit in Madrid, the ministers discussed their expectations. The main focus was on the adoption of the new NATO Strategic Concept and the further engagement of Allied forces in the Eastern flank. The Bucharest Nine countries include Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
