The state will contribute another 30 million for green solutions, as Minister of Economy Richard Sulík and Director General of SIEA Peter Blaškovitš have presented new solutions for households. Applications for subsidies will cover solar collectors, photovoltaics, heat pumps or biomass boilers. Registration will open on Monday 13 June. Economy Minister Richard Sulík says that all interested house owners will be able to apply for the subsidy: “Those interested will receive a registration code. However, they must then find a supplier for this equipment. And when the supplier confirms that they can deliver the equipment within three months, they sign up.”
The supplier can then apply for support from the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency. However, according to the director of one such supply company, Vladimír Orovnický, it is questionable whether the suppliers will be able to satisfy the market demand: "If you were to ask our company today, the most likely delivery date would be from October to January. However, we also have companies where things are stacked. It's a very diverse market. The user has to look for solutions."
In addition, the Climate Coalition Initiative has called on a number of ministries to develop plans to reduce emissions in their areas of responsibility and has highlighted the lack of clear and reliable guidance to this end. "Ministers' actions vary and are often contradictory. We therefore call on the ministries managing the areas that produce the largest volumes of emissions to act in a thoughtful and coordinated manner," said Climate Coalition representative Dana Marekova. On Monday, the initiative delivered burned bead calculators to the ministries in question. These are to remind them that time is running out to tackle the climate crisis.
