Economic and investment cooperation between India and Slovakia were the main topics discussed by Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok (a Freedom and Solidarity nominee) who welcomed his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Bratislava. "The first ever visit by the Indian partner to Slovakia on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the setting up of diplomatic relations between the two countries brought an important impetus to strengthen political dialogue as well as economic and investment cooperation between Slovakia and India," stressed Korčok. Both ministers praised the friendly relations between the countries and pointed to the closeness of positions in the areas of democracy support, human rights and rules-based international law. The Indian minister also took part in the GLOBSEC conference in Bratislava, where he spoke on the topic of partnerships and alliances in the Indo-Pacific region.
