If the parliamentary election had been held by the end of May, the opposition Voice-SD would have won with 20.3% of votes, indicates a poll conducted by the Focus agency. Another opposition Smer-SD would come second with 14.9% followed by junior governing Freedom and Solidarity with 11.1%. Non parliamentary Progressive Slovakia would be fourth (9.1%) followed by the largest governing Ordinary People party (8.1%), far-right Republic (6.8%), non-parliamentary Christian Democrats (6.5%) and the last party making the parliament would be the junior governing We Are Family (5.6%).
The first party not to make the 5% threshold would be ethnic-Hungarian Alliance (3.7%), Slovak National Party (3.7%), junior governing For the People (3.1%), far-right People’s Party our Slovakia (2.8%), Good Choice (1.4%), the Hungarian Forum (1.1%) and Together (1.1%).
Out of 150 seats in the House, Voice-SD would have acquired 37, Smer-SD 27, Freedom and Solidarity 20, Progressive Slovakia 17, Ordinary People 15, Republic and KDH 12 each and We Are Family 10.
The poll was carried out in May 25-31 on a sample of 1,008 respondents.
