Globsec conference starts in Bratislava

The prestigious Globsec conference starts in Bratislava on Thursday, June 2, with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen along with other members of the European Commission, Margrethe Vestager and Maros Sefcovic, taking part in its first day. Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok is slated to take part in the panel dealing with impacts of the Russian aggression in Ukraine on the future of Europe. The chief of Slovak diplomacy will also be present for the bestowing of the Transatlantic Award, which this year goes to the Ukrainian nation. More than 30 heads of states and government, foreign affairs and defence ministers are expected to attend the 3-day conference in Bratislava. This year’s GLOBSEC main theme is “building resilience in a divided world.” Three months into Russia’s war against its neighbour, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to address the delegates virtually.
