According to the International Association of Doctors in Slovakia, several hundred health professionals from Ukraine have arrived in Slovakia, many of whom are currently dealing with the recognition of their education. More than a hundred medics were placed in medical and social facilities. These are mainly dentists, gynaecologists or rehabilitation health workers. "In most cases, these are professions that Ukraine does not seem to need at the moment and who have decided to help their patients on the territory of their neighbour, but there are also those who have nowhere to go back to and from the beginning are treating this as a new home," Alona Kurotova from the association told TASR. According to Kurotová, the Lex Ukraine measures, which Slovakia adopted to facilitate their entry into the Slovak labour market, have helped the health workers. However, according to her, there is still an unresolved issue on the part of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, which does not recognise the positions of doctor trainee, nurse trainee and so on.
