Slovakia wants to buy 2,000 doses of monkeypox vaccine via a joint procurement by the European Commission. Cases of monkeypox have already been reported in several European countries, including the Czech Republic, but no cases have been confirmed in Slovakia so far. The WHO thinks that monkeypox is unlikely to cause a pandemic, but warns of the possible spread of monkeypox at summer festivals and major events in Europe this summer. "The potential for further spread in Europe and elsewhere in the world during the summer is high," the organisation said.
