President Zuzana Caputova reported on Wednesday that she'll announce next week whether she'll sign the inflation aid package recently approved by Parliament. Caputova claimed that she wants to make use of the time to make the right decision, adding that she'll hold several sets of talks on the issue next week. She added that the question of whether she'll submit the bill for examination by the Constitutional Court will also be part of next week’s announcement. In line with the law, the president has 15 days to sign or veto a bill once it's submitted to her office. Parliament approved the package on May 24. The measures include a contribution of €60 per month for children's leisure-time activities and an increase in the tax bonus and child bonus. Representatives of local governments have criticised the package, with the City of Bratislava calling on the president not to sign it. The coalition parties have announced that they won't change their position if the legislation is returned to Parliament.
