Government to discuss investment aid for foreign company

The Government at its session on Wednesday is set to deal with a motion to provide investment aid to a French wood processing company that is expected to be set up in Strazske, in the Kosice region. The company could receive an investment incentive in the form of income tax relief of €3.95 million from the state if the motion is approved. The Cabinet will also discuss a Finance Ministry-sponsored draft agreement on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) constituency comprising Central and Eastern European countries for 2022-32. Since 2012, Slovakia has been a member of this constituency along with Turkey, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Belarus, Slovenia and Kosovo. All countries have expressed their willingness to continue in this group. Due to sanctions, however, Belarus will not be part of it at the moment.
