The Slovak Shield 2022 military exercise demonstrated the readiness of the Slovak Armed Forces (SAF), in close cooperation with allies, to respond to challenges in ensuring the security and territorial integrity of the Slovak Republic, said Commander of the Land Forces Major General Ivan Pach on the occasion of the completion of the exercise last week. The exercise lasted for two weeks and involved 1 200 soldiers. In addition to members of the Slovak Armed Forces, there were also soldiers from the Czech Republic, Hungary and the United States of America. They practised complex planning of operations, manoeuvre exercises, fighting in built-up areas and removal of the wounded.
