The Russian Embassy in Bratislava is now located on Boris Nemtsov Street. Nemtsov, a critic of Vladimir Putin, was assassinated in 2015. Slovakia has joined other countries that have changed the names of streets in front of Russian diplomatic missions in protest against the invasion of Ukraine. Boris Nemtsov's daughter Zhanna also arrived in Bratislava for the re-naming event. "This is a strong sign of solidarity with Russians who are resisting Putin's regime," she said.
