National armaments director and general director of the modernisation department of the Defence Ministry Jozef Zekucia held talks with South Korean Ambassador to Slovakia Byeongdo Lee, TASR learnt from the ministry on Wednesday. The main topics discussed at the meeting concerned current and planned modernisation projects, the state of the defence and security policies of both Slovakia and South Korea and options for bolstering cooperation in the field of the defence industry. The ambassador was interested in the priorities of ambitious modernisation projects of the Slovak Armed Forces, as well as in developments of the security situation in Slovakia in light of the war in Ukraine. At the same time, Byeongdo Lee confirmed an invitation for representatives of the Slovak Defence Ministry and arms industry to the DEFENSE EXPO KOREA 2022, which will take place in Seoul in September.
