Supplies of covid vaccines to many pharmacies suspended

Supplies of COVID-19 vaccines to a number of pharmacies have been suspended. This is due to unpaid invoices. This was confirmed to TASR by the president of the Slovak Chamber of Pharmacy Ondrej Sukel. Doctors order vaccines to pharmacies for vaccination in outpatient clinics. Sukel explained that the debt arose after the company Imuna Pharm failed to pay the pharmacies' invoices for the distribution of vaccines. At the beginning of the year the company should have received money from the Healthcare Ministry for this purpose. Thus, the pharmacies are currently owing approximately 150,000 euros. The ministry confirmed that it had paid the company for the distribution of the vaccines and also reminded it of the necessity to pay the invoices, given its contractual relations with pharmacies.
