Food prices are unlikely to stop rising any time soon. Already some foodstuffs are 20% more expensive than last year. According to the head of the Slovak Chamber of Agriculture and Food Emil Mach, our farmers will raise prices by another 5-10% this summer. Expensive electricity and fertilisers are pushing up prices for agri-commodities, while the European Union expects farmers to increase food production to replace exports from Ukraine.
