New Cycling Bridge Across Morava River Officially Open

Bratislava Regional Authority and the federal state of Lower Austria on Saturday officially opened a new cycling bridge across the Morava River, connecting the Slovak village of Vysoka pri Morave, close to the capital Bratislava, and the Austrian village of Marchegg.
As the project supports ecological and sustainable mobility, it is accessible from the Slovak side only on bikes, scooters or on foot. Historical records mention a bridge over the Morava River near the village of Marchegg as early as in the 13th century, and a ferry was in operation until 1918. The link between the Austrian and Slovak villages has thus been resumed after over 100 years.
