Prime Minister Eduard Heger sees no reason to replace Health Minister Vladimír Lengvarský as long as he and his ministry produce results. The PM thus reacted to criticism of Lengvarský voiced by the leader of the largest governing Ordinary People party Igor Matovič. "I have a very open relationship with Minister Lengvarský and I communicate all reservations directly to him. I do not need to say anything to him through the media," said Heger.
Matovič criticized delays in the construction and reconstruction of hospitals, which are related to the EU’s recovery and resilience plan. "Two years ago we learned that there would be money, that a substantial part of it would go to health care. A year ago, the plan passed. To this day, nothing has been implemented from the health ministry," said Matovič. Slovakia has one billion euro to build five hospitals in four years. The SME daily cited experts who do not believe that such a plan is realistic.
