Slovak NGOs transported over 700 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the second month of the war and humanitarian crisis there. Since the beginning of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, Development Organisations Platform - Ambrela, an association of 29 humanitarian, development and educational organizations operating in Slovakia, has been coordinating the working group for humanitarian aid. The platform has also been collecting and assessing information from its members and their Ukrainian partners in order to be able to continue the effective distribution of aid in the region. Ambrela NGOs transported 709 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine in March, and the figure for April was similar. According to Ambrela's data, the material aid transported to Ukraine was worth €1.5 million and primarily included foodstuffs, medical supplies and medicines, sanitary materials and accessories for accommodation units.
