Parliament continues discussing consent to the extradition of Robert Fico

Since Thursday, the Parliament has been debating the extradition of former Slovak premier Robert Fico for custodial prosecution. The debate may continue until late Tuesday evening. The deputies agreed to postpone a number of agenda items to the next regular session of the National Assembly, starting in June. The OĽaNO party are also calling on the Prosecutor General's Office to take immediate action in connection with the statements made by Robert Fico during Sunday's protest in Nitra. The May Day celebrations gradually turned into a protest against the government, President Zuzana Čaputová and the prosecution of Fico in detention. During his speech, Fico declared that "one day we will discover" who killed Kuciak and "everyone in Slovakia will be shocked".
