Marian Kotleba will continue to be head of the People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS). The party's congress re-elected him to the post of party chairman, TASR was informed on Monday by Martin Beluský, the spokesman of ĽSNS. According to him, this decision is a manifestation that the party is united, strong and consolidated. Marian Kotleba resigned from his post after his conviction and loss of his parliamentary mandate, which the party considers unconstitutional. Kotleba lost his mandate after the Supreme Court sentenced him to a six-month suspended sentence for handing over cheques worth €1,488, a number known as a neo-Nazi symbol, to families. Kotleba was thus found guilty of expressing sympathy for a movement that suppresses fundamental rights and freedoms.
