Slovakia is applying for the first payment from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, amounting to almost €460 million, said Prime Minister Eduard Heger on Friday. He informed that the country has managed to cover all the 14 milestones required. The country has received more than €209 million to help refugees from Ukraine. The European Commission has paid out a total of €3.5 billion in advance payments to all 27 EU member states to help them cope with the arrival of people fleeing the war.
The commission specified that payments for REACT-EU were made under the EU Cohesion's Action for Refugees in Europe (CARE).
