On Wednesday, a Swedish boat leaked oil near the Gabcikovo Dam, with oil spills detected by despatchers on the water level of the Danube River. "The despatchers immediately applied the emergency checklist and apprised the relevant district authorities, the Slovak Environmental Inspection, Transport Authority and rescue services," claimed Slovak Water Management Company spokesperson Marian Bocak. Later on Wednesday, the Environment Ministry reported that the situation had been stabilised. The boat was put in the Gabcikovo Dam's lock chamber.
