4,400+ Ukrainian refugees have found jobs in Slovakia

More than 4,400 refugees from Ukraine have already managed to find work in Slovakia with 85% of them being women, the latest monitor carried out by the Financial Policy Institute (IFP) revealed. Ukrainian women have found jobs not only in services, but also in industrial manufacturing as assembly workers or machine operators. Forty-three Ukrainians have found work in the education sector and 23 in health-care. They have taken up jobs mainly in bigger towns and cities, such as Bratislava, Trenčín, Trnava, Nitra and Košice.

Meanwhile, the IFP pointed out that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had revised its global GDP growth estimate for this year downwards by 1.3 percentage points in connection with persisting bottlenecks in supply chains, stronger inflation and the war in Ukraine. "Negative effects will be felt mainly by industry-oriented countries of the eurozone that are largely dependent on energy.
