Economy Minister Tomas Malatinský as well as Education Minister Dušan Čaplovič announced their resignations on Wednesday. Prime Minister Robert Fico claims that he has already sent proposals for appointing two new members to his Cabinet. State Secretary of the Finance Ministry Peter Pellegrini should take the Education Ministry and Pavol Pavlis should become Economy Minister.
President Andrej Kiska has accepted the resignation of the two Ministers on Thursday and appointed the two new nominees of Prime Minister Fico. This replacement of ministers is designed to create an impression of a new start in the Government and the Smer-SD party, although that is not actually the case, claims political analyst Grigorij Meseznikov.
