Cross-border commuters no longer need a certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test result to enter Austria; the 3G rule continues to be in place for other passengers, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reports on its website on Tuesday.
"As of April 16, cross-border commuters entering Austria (due to work, school, family reasons or life partner visit) are no longer required to show they meet the 3G condition, or to be quarantined," said the ministry.
For other passengers, the 3G rule continues to be in place, that is the obligation to show a certificate of vaccination with a second or booster shot, a document proving recovery from the disease or a negative test. Children under 12 are exempted from this obligation. "Unvaccinated (no vaccine shot) or recovered persons (without at least one vaccine dose) must register and adhere to a ten-day quarantine," added the ministry.
