The novelist and essayist Jan Tuzinsky, a former director of Slovak Radio, died on Friday (15 April) at the age of 71. The director of the Slovak Radio's programme services section Michal Dzurjanin confirmed the news to TASR.
Jan Tuzinsky was born on 29 March 1951 in Zlaté Moravce. He entered literature with his short story collection Whipping of Horses, which was published in 1983. At the beginning of the 1980s, he began working at the Czechoslovak Radio. From 1994 to 1997 he was the central director of Slovak Radio, and later script editor of radio plays. He was also chairman of the Slovak Writers' Association and a member of the Slovak National Council from 1994 to 1998.
