Slovakia will help Ukraine collect evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the territories from which Russian troops have withdrawn, Slovak President Zuzana Caputova has stated via social media. According to her, in a few days the first team of staff, including a forensic doctor, will leave Slovakia to assist their colleagues from the Ukrainian prosecution service in gathering the evidence needed for the investigation of these crimes by the international community and the International Criminal Court in The Hague. The president offered this kind of assistance to her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy following the recent publication of footage from Bucha and other Ukrainian towns by the media. "Slovakia will be the second country after France to help Ukraine on the ground in this difficult but necessary process," she stressed.
