Former Czechoslovak figure skater and the 1960 Winter Olympic Games silver medallist Karol Divin died at 86 on Wednesday. Karol Divin was a two-time European champion (1958, 1959), he also won silver and bronze medals at the World Championships (silver in 1962, bronze in 1964) and multiple silver and bronze medals at the European Championships (silver in 1957, 1962 and bronze in 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1964). He was the first world-famous Slovak-born figure skater, the first ever from Slovakia to win a medal at the Winter Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships.
