Slovak President Zuzana Caputová thanked volunteers for their help in the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic and for their deployment on the front line on the Slovak-Ukrainian border in recent weeks. She did so while receiving volunteers nominated for the Volunteer of the Year award.
"It is a tremendous encouragement to see how many people are willing to help in critical moments, to sacrifice their free time, comfort, energy and strength because someone else needs it," said Čaputová. The President also thanked the volunteers for being a good example for society.
